PEMBROKESHIRE COAST PATH ... again!

September 23 –October 07, 2018

England, United Kingdom

Rainer & Christian

Yes, we did hike the Pembrokeshire Coast Path before, in June 2017 it was. But we only did the Southern part! So I, Christian, came back, bringing my friend Rainer along to do the rest. For that we took a late train from London to Haverfordwest which on the next morning was followed by a short bus ride to St. David's, to the exact same spot Margit and I finished last time. From there we hiked close to 100 kilometers until the path's finish line in St. Dogmaels. This time we were very unfortunate with the weather with several atlantic storms hitting UK's South Western coasts in exactly that week. Nevertheless we defied all the storms, the worst one on the last day and finished the hike after five days of terrible weather but unbroken spirits. We even camped 3 nights in windy and rainy condidtions. Rare rays of sunshine inbetween and the help of generous people (particular thanks to all the Watts in Parrog!) have helped us through this! A planned trip to the beautiful beach at Barafundle Bay for the last day had to be cancelled though. Instead we set up dry quarters in beautiful Tenby and consoled us with visits to locals pubs and cafés. Back in London we caught a glimpse of Wimbedon's beautiful Center Court front before rain set in again (and we had to take refuge in several pubs and bars again – what a pity). A day later Rainer had to get back to Vienna. But I remained and Margit arrived. And togehter we hiked the beautiful Jurassic Coast on England's South Coast for the next 10 days in stunning weather conditions!

We are Margit and Christian. Our love for each other is unbowed. And so is our passion for traveling. This is a collection of different travels in different styles we did in the last decade – together or with friends or family! Documented in pictures, on film or in writing.
