JURASSIC COAST PATH

September 23–October 07, 2018

England, United Kingdom

Margit & Christian

This is a follow-up hike to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path 2018 (which Christian finished with Rainer just two days before). On a rainy Sunday morning we left London Paddington for Dorset by train to start that part of the English South West Coast Path called Jurrasic Coast (NOPE, no dinosaurs there, folks!). For the next 10 days we hiked from Exmouth to Lulwurth Cove, a total of 140 kilometers. The scenery changed from beautiful to gorgeous by the day and we could not believe our eyes what absolute beauty we were about to experience each day anew. What did help was the best weather one could hope for on a coastal hike. Out of those 10 days we had 8 days of sunshine and 2 days of cloudy skies which not only made for warm days but also great sun sets and rises. Nights were generally clear but very cold to sometimes freezing. Nevertheless it was only twice that we took a room, the other seven nights we camped bravely, completely wrapped up in our sleeping bags. We met many lovely people along the way, endured simple camping food and indulged in tasty ales and burgers. Eventually even this beautiful trip had to be over and we returned to London where we reunited with our dear friend Carscht and our lovely Namibian friends before we sadly had to return back home!

We are Margit and Christian. Our love for each other is unbowed. And so is our passion for traveling. This is a collection of different travels in different styles we did in the last decade – together or with friends or family! Documented in pictures, on film or in writing.
