September 12–October 03, 2019
Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy
Margit & Christian
It all started with the Laver Cup. When it was announced that in 2019 it will take place in Geneva we found ourselves in a dilema because the date in the middle of September interferred with our plans to have an autumn hiking trip. But we could not let the rather simple opportunity to see Roger Federer once again pass by. So instead of just flying to Geneva and back we eventually went for something completely different: To go on a road trip to Geneva! On the way we would meet up with family and good old friends that we haven't seen for a while but also visit some completely new places as well! So we packed our bags and headed west. For 3 weeks the sun and blue skies were basically with us all the time – we were really lucky!!! Thanks to all the lovely people we met on the way, it was a real pleasure!
Radstadt with family (and a drive through the Austrian Alps)
Zürich (where we stayed separately with different friends)
On the shores of the Northeastern part of Lake Geneva: The Vevey vineyard terraces and Charlie Chaplin's Final Home
Lyon
Geneva (with Anne and our Zürich friends)
Laver Cup at the Geneva Palexpo Center: 3 days of pure excitement (also with Anne)!
Via Vevey (again!) and over the Passo della Novena (2478m) to cross from Wallis to Ticino
By Lago Lugano (staying in the village of Brè), including hikes on Monte Brè and Monte Boglia
Lunch in Gandria and a drive via Lago di Como
